Token Ring Only Networks
Read this section if you are using an MSH chassis in a token ring only
network.
If you are using the MSH chassis in an environment which has only
token ring networks, remote management of the MSH hub will need to
take place over token ring. This will require you to alter the
configuration of the MSH Management Module.
By default the MSH Management Module expects to use its own
internal Ethernet MAC connected to the Ethernet bus E1. To manage
the MSH over token ring you need to direct the management module
to use a MAC on another suitable module, for instance, a MAC on a
RingBuilder Module. The two modules will then share the specified
MAC.
To change the MAC you need security access at level 5.
Selecting the Shared MAC
At the MSH Setup screen, select the button labelled SHARED MAC at
the bottom of the screen. The MAC Selection screen will be displayed
(see Figure 11-1 ).
