The list box displays the MAC addresses of the stations on the selected
service. Up to 12 addresses are displayed at a time, use the cursor keys
to scroll up and down the list and the space bar to select a station.
Station Sequence in the Topology List
The addresses are listed in downstream order. The first address
displayed in the Topology List is always that of MAC1 on the selected
RingBuilder.
If the Ring-In and Ring-Out ports of the RingBuilder are connected to
an external ring, the next addresses will be the stations on the external
ring, starting with the closest station to the Ring-Out port of the
RingBuilder and going around the external ring to the station before
the Ring-In port.
Next the addresses of stations on the MAUs in the local ring section are
shown. These start with the address of the station connected to the
MAU in the highest numbered slot. See “Station Location on a Local
Ring Section” on page 9-13 for an explanation of the MAU sequence.
The current active monitor is indicated by the text act/mon following
the MAC address.
Ring Station Statistics
To select a station from the Ring Topology list box:
1 Select a station from the Ring Topology screen using the cursor keys
and space bar.
2 The address of the selected station will be displayed in the Address
Selected box in the bottom left hand corner of the Ring Topology
screen.
3 Move to the STATISTICS button and press [Return]. A screen similar to
the one below will be displayed.
