ADJUSTING THE BLADE CONTACT
The blades are designed to have continual contact to keep the blades sharp. Check the
contact by spinning the reel blade by hand while putting paper between the bed knife and
reel blade. If the blades cut the paper like scissors, the blades are properly adjusted. It is
normal for the machine to make a ticking sound while the blades are running.
To adjust the blade contact:
Note: A 12-point 3/8” socket with a flexible joint or two-piece extension is required.
1. Remove the Tumblers and Blade Couplings (for instructions, see
Disassembling the T-ZERO on page 27).
2. Spin each blade by hand cutting paper along the length to determine
which side needs to be adjusted. If the blade cannot spin by hand, the
blade is adjusted too tight. If the paper is not cutting along the
majority of the blade, the blade needs to be adjusted tighter.
3. Tighten the screws on the front of the machine to adjust the bed knife
closer to the helix blade.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
BLADES ARE SHARP! ALWAYS SHUT DOWN AND LOCK OUT
POWER BEFORE ADJUSTING THE BLADE CONTACT.
WEAR GLOVES, AND NEVER PUT APPENDAGES BETWEEN
THE BED KNIFE AND HELIX BLADE.
