It is recommended to clean the primary filters weekly—especially when dry
trimming.
When the static pressure reads 5” WC on the digital readout on the Pulse Jet
Controller, a replacement filter is recommended.
The pressure drop across the HEPA Filter should be 1-2” WC . The HEPA Filter should
last 5-10 years in a properly maintained machine.
WEEKLY HFS INSPECTION PROCEDURE:
1. Shut down and lock out the Main Electrical Panel.
2. Turn off the Pulse Jet Controller and Air Shutoff Valve
3. Drain the Pulse Jet Air Manifold of residual pressure:
a) Use the relief valve on the bottom of the Pulse Jet Air Manifold, or
allow the Pulse Jet Controller to cycle until the Pulse Jet Air
Regulator reads 0psi to ensure the system has no pressure.
4. Open the Primary Filter Access Door and check for any holes or damage
to the filters. IF THERE IS EXCESS DUST BUILD-UP, CLEAN WITH A
SOFT BRUSH AND SHOP VACUUM.
WHEN REMOVING THE FILTERS, ALWAYS CHECK THE BLACK GASKET ON
TOP FOR DAMAGE. A BROKEN PRIMARY FILTER GASKET CAN CAUSE
SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE HEPA FILTERS.
5. Clean any debris out of the trap at the bottom of the HFS
6. With the trimmer, cyclone, and all ducting attached, power the HFS to
100% and check the pressure drop across both filters:
a) Use the digital readout for the primary filters. Maximum pressure
drop is 5” W.C. across this filter. A new filter should read
between 0.2” and 1” W.C.
b) Use the gauge above the Pulse Jet Controller to monitor pressure
drop across the HEPA filter. This filter should have a 1-1.5”
pressure drop.

WEAR A DUST MASK OR RESPIRATOR WHEN
CLEANING THE HEPA FILTER STACKS.
