a) Spin each blade by hand, ensuring smooth rotation with light
contact.
b) Inspect each blade, checking for any damage to the blade edges.
c) Perform the paper cut test. IF THE BLADES DO NOT CLEANLY
CUT PAPER, BLADE ADJUSTMENT IS REQUIRED (see
Adjusting the Blade Contact for instructions on page 58).
7. Inspect the lower rollers:
a) Check the contact surfaces for wear, cracks, or any damage.
b) Rotate each roller by hand. Roller bearings should spin smoothly
without wobbling.
c) Ensure all roller bolts are tight. IF LOOSE, TORQUE ROLLER
BOLTS TO 30 FT-LBS.
8. Inspect all four vacuum shrouds:
a) With the shrouds installed, inspect the edges to make sure the top
edge of the rear vacuum shroud is flush on the blade cartridge.
ANY GAPS AROUND THE SHROUDS WILL DECREASE VACUUM SUCTION AND
REDUCE PERFORMANCE.
9. Check blade belt is tensioned. If using a belt tension gauge, the gauge
should read 8-12lbs.
10. Inspect belt for any fraying, kinks or other damage
11. Check the On-Board Electrical box connections:
a) Ensure all fittings are still tight on the box walls
b) Check all cables and connectors for damage.
12. Open the On-Board Electrical box and check for water ingress.
13. Inspect the rubber gasket around the On-Board Electrical box door for any
tears or damage.
14. Turn on the water sprayers and ensure each nozzle is spraying properly. If
the city water pressure is low, a water pump may be required to effectively
lubricate the brush and tumbler.
