INSPECTING THE CYCLONE
For the weekly inspection of the Horizontal Cyclone:
1. Check the Trim Bin for any damage:
a) Inspect the Trim Bin and lid for any damage, specifically around
the sealing surfaces .
b) Inspect the lid gasket to ensure it is seated properly in the lid.
Ensure there are no cracks or other damage.
2. Inspect the connection between the Trim Bin and Horizontal Cyclone:
a) Ensure Cyclone Discharge Flange and Trim Bin Flange bolts are
tight.
b) Ensure the flex hose is fully seated on the top and bottom flange,
with the hose clamps above the rib on the flanges.
3. Check the Cyclone Inlet, Outlet, and Access Hatch connections for any
damage or cracks. Ensure all sealing surfaces are free of large scratches
or dents.
4. Inspect all ducting between the cyclone and trimmer:
a) Check all gaskets for cracking and wear.
b) Ensure the orange silicone is properly seated in the groove of the
clamp.
c) Ensure ducting is free of dents or cracks, especially at the
clamping ends .
d) Inspect the flex hose, looking for small holes in the ribs.
e) Ensure the hose clamps are seated inside the spiral of the hose
and tight.
5. Re-assemble all components, ensuring each gasket is seated properly.
6. Power the HFS to 100% power. Use a Manometer to measure the static
pressure at the inlet of the cyclone. Most systems should read between
4.5” and 6” Water Gauge. Some custom systems may vary.
a) Keep a record of these measurements to ensure performance and
help troubleshooting.
Note: Use nickel-filled anti-seize Teflon tape when reinstalling the cyclone port plugs.
LONG TERM MAINTENANCE
There is no scheduled maintenance on the cyclone. It is advised to keep spare
trim hose, gaskets, and hose clamps as these components could degrade over
time.
