“Load Presets” recalls previous saved preset conditions from the PC’s disk
memory for execution. Note that a saved file is an ASCII file that can be manually
edited as desired to create a complex presentation object.
18.4 Testcards Menu
“Testcards” Toolbar Items
The Universal Scaler has room in its memory for several custom images (called
testcards) that can be used as system maintenance signals or logos. The
configuration utility provides a way to create and load new images into memory
or read out the contents of existing images if desired.
Although you can read the stored data via the “Read Testcard” menu item, the
most common use of this functionality is the creation and storage of new test
card images. The imported image needs to be in an acceptable format with *.jpg,
*.gif and .bmp image formats all supported plus the Scaler saves files in a
proprietary format that uses a
“ .tc” suffix. (Keep in mind that jpg and gif images
are all compressed images and should not be used to create test signals used for
system maintenance although, depending on their resolution, they may be
acceptable for logo creation).
When you select “Program Testcard”, you will open the standard Windows File
Load Dialog Box. Select the directory where the image you wish to load into the
Scaler resides from the displayed list.
