18.2.1 Selecting the Communications Port or IP Address
“Serial Port” Toolbar Item
Selecting a Serial Port:
Select the “Communications Port” item on the
Toolbar’s Communications sub menu, check the “Serial” item on the pop-up
menu shown above and then check the port you wish to use. Click “OK” to create
the communications path.
Notes: Although the utility shows 10 ports, your PC
may not have all the ports available. Also, when selecting a port you must be
certain that no other device is using the same port else there will be a resource
conflict and one or perhaps both devices will not work. If you encounter this
situation, use the device manager function of your PC to resolve the conflict.
Adding an IP address
: If you select the
Ethernet item on the pop-up window, a
second window will appear where you
can set the IP address for the Scaler to
use on your network.
Once you’ve selected either a serial port
or entered an IP address, press the OK
button to save the selection.
