13.9 De-Glitch
Adjust Scaler Parameters
De-glitch [ Off]
De-glitch is used to provide clean, seamless switching between video sources.
With the Universal Scaler, it is unusual for the inputs to be synchronized with one
another and the De-glitch function insures that the switches between these inputs
do not cause the picture to breakup at the point of the switch. This feature is
normally left on however, if you have a very unstable input, such as a video tape
machine in need of mechanical adjustment, you may wish to turn the feature off
since the Scaler will not allow a unstable image to appear on the screen if De-
glitch is left on.
From the screen shown above, press the Menu Select knob to make a change.
Since there are only two choices, “On” or “Off”, there are no flashing brackets to
deal with. Each time you press the knob, the function toggles to the other state.
Once there, pressing and holding the knob until you hear the “Beep” makes the
change permanent in the event of loss of power.
13.10 Switching Fade Time

Switching Fade Time [ .5]
For subjective reasons, it may be desirable to change the way the Scaler handles
a switch between its inputs. The Switching Fade Time parameter can be adjusted
to allow from 0 seconds (instant change) to 5 seconds of delay between the time
one image disappears and another one appears. (During the absence of an
image, the screen may be black).
The delay can be adjusted in 1/10th second increments with the default setting
being .5 seconds.
To make this adjustment, press the Menu Select knob and observe the flashing
brackets. Rotate the Menu Select knob until you have the desired amount of
delay displayed and then press the knob once again. To make the change
permanent, press and hold the knob until you hear the “Beep”.
