CAT® Tail - Anchor Assembly
Connecting To 27 3/4” [705 mm] High Downstream Single
Sided Guardrail

1. Assemble the Anchor Cable (Part RR) as shown above.
2. Ensure the CAT® 2” [50 mm] Pipe Sleeve (Part X) is assembled in Post 6
as shown above.
3. Ensure the Bearing Plate (Part Q) is assembled at Post 6 with the hole
oriented as shown in Bearing Plate Detail.
4. Assemble on each end of the Cable Assembly a 1” Round Washer (Part V)
and two (2) 1” Hex Nuts (Part T).
5. While tightening nut with a wrench, restrain the end fitting with locking pliers
at the end being tightened to avoid twisting the cable.
6. Tighten the cable until it is taut. The cable is considered taut when it does
not deflect more than 1 inch [25 mm] when pressure is applied by hand in
an up or down direction.
7. Ensure two (2) nails are assembled as shown in the Bearing Plate Detail to
prevent the plate from rotating. Nails are not included in the quantities.

or otherwise commingle parts from
other systems even if those
systems are Trinity Highway
systems.
WARNINGS
Ensure the Bearing Plate is placed on the Cable Assembly with the
hole 3” [75 mm] from the bottom of the Bearing Plate. Failure to
follow this warning could result in serious injury or death in the event
of a vehicle impact with the system
