CAT® Post and Strut Assembly (Posts 1 & 2)

1. Assemble all parts in the configuration and orientation as shown above.
2. Ensure the notched side of post 1 (Part E) is facing post 2 (Part F).
3. Assemble CAT® 1” Pipe Sleeve (Part GG) in Post 1 and CAT® 2” Pipe
Sleeve (Part X) in Post 2.
4. Ensure washers (Part AA) are placed between the bolt head (Part CC) and
the yoke of the strut (Part K) and the nut (Part BB) and the strut yoke.
5. Ensure the tube sleeve height does not exceed 4” [100 mm] above finished
grade.
6. Tighten all threaded hardware to a snug position with a minimum of two (2)
bolt threads protruding beyond the nut.
Do not over tighten the bolt and
deform the tubes.

Use only Trinity Highway parts that
are specified herein for the CAT® for
assembling,
maintaining,
or
repairing the CAT®. Do not utilize or
otherwise commingle parts from
other systems even if those systems
are Trinity Highway systems.
WARNINGS
Ensure the notched side of post 1 (Part E) is facing post 2
(Part F).
Ensure that the strut opening is facing down.
NOTE: When CAT® is assembled in a median, bolt
(Part CC) can be assembled from either side of the
tube sleeve. When CAT® is assembled on the
roadside, it is recommended the bolt be assembled
from the embankment side.
