CAT® Anchor Cable Assembly

1 EA
1. Assemble CAT® Cable Assembly (Part N) as shown above.
2. Assemble 1” [25 mm] Pipe Sleeve CAT™ (Part GG) in Post 1 and 2” [50 mm]
Pipe Sleeve (Part X) in Post 2 if not assembled in Step 4C.
3. Assemble the ends of the Cable Assembly through the two pipe sleeves and
hole in the Spacer.
4. Ensure the Bearing Plate (Part Q) is assembled at Post 1 with the hole oriented
as shown in Bearing Plate Detail.
5. Assemble on each end of the Cable Assembly a 1” Round Washer (Part V) and
two (2) 1” Hex Nuts (Part T).
6. While tightening nut with a wrench, restrain the cable end fitting with locking
pliers at the end being tightened to avoid twisting the cable.
7. Tighten the cable until it is taut. The cable is considered taut when it does not
deflect more than 1” [25 mm] when pressure is applied by hand in an up or
down direction.
8. Ensure two (2) nails are assembled as shown in Bearing Plate Detail to prevent
the plate from rotating. Nails are not included in the quantities.

assembling,
maintaining, or repairing the
CAT®. Do not utilize or
otherwise commingle parts from
other systems even if those
systems are Trinity Highway
systems.
WARNINGS
Ensure the Bearing Plate is placed on the Cable Assembly with the
hole 3” [75 mm] from the bottom of the Bearing Plate. Ensure Bearing
Plate is toe nailed and the cable is taut. Failure to follow this warning
could result in serious injury or death in the event of a vehicle impact
with the system.
