Quick Start Procedures
Congratulations on the purchase of your
EZx
Contaminant Detector . This Quick Start Guide is
intended to get your detector up and running. For full
operational procedures related to the
EZx , refer to your
User Guide (REC 4132).
The following steps have to be performed or configured
for the best performance, reliability, and safety.
•
Long Seasoning of the Tank – preconditions the X-
ray tube and the tank environment.
•
Radiation Survey – always perform a Radiation
Survey if this is the first time the EZx has been
operated after installation.
•
New Product Setup – includes Reject , Filter , and
Shift setup.

UP
At start up the following screen displays:
1. Select Username, System Administrator
2. Enter Thermo1 as the password
The Main Screen displays:

EASONING
Select More Menus/Test/Tube Diagnostics/Start Long
Season. The EZx indicates when Long seasoning is
complete.

URVEY
During the Long Seasoning , when the current X-ray
power supply KV and mA are above ~65 kV and ~w.5
mA perform a Radiation Survey. (The current readings
are displayed in the center of the screen.).
Using an approved radiation detector check all areas of
the machine indicated on the
Radiation Survey Sheet
( Appendix C in REC 4132 ).

1. Select More Menus/Setup/IO/Output
2. Enter Distance – how far the reject device is from
the X-rays, in the center of the aperture tunnel)
3. Enter Duration – how long the signal to the reject
device should be on.
4. Select Previous
5. Select Close

1. Select More Menus/Product Setup/New Product
2. Enter Package Length
3. Enter Belt Speed
4. Enter the minimum Package Gap (distance between
packages).
5. Select Quick Learn
