MCR Profile Settings
The MCR profile finds components in the sample data based on their (calculated) pure
component spectra and shows their locations in the chemical image. Click a point in the
chemical image to display the spectrum acquired at that location and its associated pure
component spectrum in the spectral pane.
If OMNICxi has associated spectral libraries, the found MCR components are searched
against those libraries automatically. To see search results for the displayed pure component
spectrum, click
Search Displayed Spectrum below the spectral pane. The search results
window appears above the button. The name of the best matched spectrum from the available
spectral libraries appears at the top of the search results window and its spectrum is added to
the spectral pane. After you close the search results window, the library spectrum disappears
from the spectral pane.

Profile Type Description
Range start/end Defines the location of the region of interest. To specify the region, select
the
Spectrum tool
,
then click a point of interest in the chemical
image. The spectrum collected at that location is displayed in the spectral
pane. Enter X-axis start and end locations in their respective boxes or
drag the left and right facing triangle tools in the spectral pane to mark
the region start and end.
Tip To zoom the spectrum, use the mouse to draw a box around the
region, then click inside the box.
Intensity
Threshold Specifies a peak height value below which this profile will report 0. This
eliminates peaks below a certain size to prevent reporting noise when the
peak of interest is not present in the spectra.
