TA64 Features and Specifications

2.1

Baseboard

The TA64 was designed to provide a low-power mobile AMD Turion64 platform in
a standard single-slot, 6-RU, VME64 form factor. The TA64 is implemented as a
single-slot VMEbus board with an Turion64 CPU and the 8000-series AMD chipset
featuring HyperTransport technology supporting two high-speed PCI-X interfaces.

The TA64 is available at a processor speed of 800 MHz or 1.6 GHz (with a 1-MB L2
cache and 128-KB L1 cache for instruction plus data), with a HyperTransport technol-
ogy I/O bandwidth of up to 6.4 GB/s—see

Figure 2-1

SDRAM memory operates at a bandwidth of 3.2 GB/s, giving a total processor-to-
system bandwidth (HyperTransport technology plus memory bandwidth) of up to
9.6 GB/s.

Basic features of the TA64 include:

• One 800-MHz/1.6-GHz Mobile AMD Turion64 processor

• Up to 4 GB of DDR 333 SDRAM memory

• Front-panel I/O includes one gigabit Ethernet port, one Ultra320 SCSI port,

one IDE port, two serial ports, a dual-USB port (or substitute DIN-8 PS/2 KB/
mouse port), and a 64-bit/66MHz PMC Module slot

• The rear VME P2-connector I/O includes signals for LVD/SE SCSI A, four

TTY COM ports, two USB ports, PS/2 keyboard/mouse, AC97 audio, a floppy

drive, I
