7.2.4 Setting Hot/Cold Standby Mode
If Hot standby mode is desired, where the offline SSPA remains unmuted, enter the
following for each SSPA in the system:
1. Press the
Main Menu

6.Redund.
and press the
Enter
key;
3. Select
3.Standby Mode
and press the
Enter
key;
4. Select
1.Hot Stdby
and press the
Enter
key.
If Cold standby is desired, where the offline SSPA remains muted until placed online,
enter the following for each SSPA in the system:
1. Press the
Main Menu
key;
2. Select
6.Redund.
and press the
Enter
key;
3. Select
3.Standby Mode
and press the
Enter
key;
4. Select
2.Cold Stdby
and press the
Enter
key.
7.2.5 Setting Auto/Manual Switching Mode
Optionally, the operator may toggle the switching method between manual and auto-
matic. The default setting is automatic switchover.

4. Select the desired switching mode and press the
Enter
key.
7.2.6 Setting Switch Mute
A system with a combined output power of 1kW or greater should utilize the “Mute on
Switchover” option. When this setting is selected, the system amplifiers will automati-
cally mute whenever the position of a waveguide switch changes. Muting the amplifiers
during switchover helps prevent arcing within the waveguide.
Select this option by entering the following on the front panel menu:

For lower power system this selection is optional, consult the factory for details.
