This function enables your fax machine to correct
communication errors due to poor line conditions.
This parameter is used when the line is poor or
noisy. The drawback is that communications are
slower
If this function is available on the network,
choose WITH to sort fax calls from telephone
calls. Faxes will always be recieved automatically,
and the other calls will be handled according to the
reception mode selected (see § RECEPTION).
De-activating dithering can result in sharper
printer output of incoming faxes
Enables you to specify whether the memory has
been extended and the additional capacity (in
pages)
You can change the Internet connection time slot
for periodic access (menu 9412), thus avoiding
night-time access
Enables you to choose whether to allow automatic
access 7 days a week or only from Monday to
Friday (to avoid weekend access)
Your fax machine supports several maximum speeds
for Internet access. Where line conditions are good
(adapted, no echo) transmission usually takes place
at a speed of 14400 baud.
However, transmission speeds must sometimes be
limited for certain sessions (owing to poor line
quality or the specific configuration of the access
provider)
When activated, this parameter enables the Internet
address of the party at the other end of the line (if
available) to be automatically recorded into the
directory (see the
Dialling using the directory
section in the SENDING A FAX chapter).
ERASE MAILBOX ON: when the fax machine
receives an e-mail with an attachment which it
cannot handle, it erases the message from the
mailbox with the access provider, then prints out
and sends to the issuer of the message a COULD
NOT PROCESS MESSAGE notification.
If the parameter is not set (OFF), the fax machine
does not erase the message from the mailbox;
instead, it prints out a COULD NOT PROCESS
MESSAGE notification, advising you to retrieve
the offending message by other means.
This
parameter should only be used if you have other
means of doing so (e.g. a computer). The storage
space provided by your access provider is limited.
If you fail to empty your mailbox regularly, this
may cause the system to refuse new incoming
messages.
