4. Set up the host domain as an install client.
The
add_install_client
command should share the CD across the net. If an
error occurs, you may receive the following message:
If you receive this message, use the following
share
(1M) command to correct the
error.
If the
/etc/nsswitch.conf
file contains a DNS entry in its host list, you may
receive the following warning:
If you receive this message, you need to remove the DNS entry in the
/etc/nsswitch.conf
file, to add the domain_name to the ethers map if the name is
not already in the map, and to re-run the
add_install_client
(1M) command.
5. Check to see if Patch 105684 has been installed.
If you have not upgraded the SSP software to SSP 3.1.1 or SSP 3.2 and if Patch
105684 is not installed, you need to install Patch 105684-04, at a minimum. You can
obtain this patch from
http://www.sunsolve.com
. Refer to the patch README
file for directions on how to install the patch.
6. Exit the superuser level.
7. Use the
domain_status
(1M) command to ensure that the OS version is set to the
proper value.
If you upgraded the SSP software to SSP 3.1.1 or SSP 3.2, the OS version should be
5.7. If you did not upgrade the SSP software, the OS version should be 2.7. If the OS
version is set to the proper value, proceed to Step 8. If not, perform the following
steps:

ssp# share -F nfs -o ro,anon=0 /cdrom/cdrom0/s0
Error:

does not exist in the NIS ethers map.
