Settings
In this mode, the functions of using radio
wave transmissions such as calling, accessing
to the Internet (including sending/receiving
mails), etc. are disabled. It is useful when you
want to operate the terminal with no
interruption of incoming calls or mails.
Turning on Airplane mode

From the Settings screen (P.118),
tap [More...].

Mark [Airplane mode].

When you unmark "Airplane mode", the
Airplane mode turns off.

Alternatively, press and hold
p
for over a second
and then tap [Airplane mode] in the pop-up screen,
or drag the status bar downward and tap

to
switch on/off.

Even if Airplane mode is on, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth function
and Reader/Writer, P2P function can be turned on. Be
careful not to use Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Reader/Writer, P2P
functions in a place where the use is prohibited such
as in a airplane or hospital.
Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a technology
to connect to the information in a protected
local network from another network.
Generally, VPNs are provided to companies,
schools and other facilities. A user can access
to the information in the local network from
outside of the premises.
To set up a VPN access from the terminal, you
need to retrieve the information related to
security from your network administrator. For
details, see the following website.
