(1) Control Panel 

This area includes the switches, display, and other features used to operate the FLD-1. 

 

(2) Dust Unit 

This unit includes a detector, a filter holder base, and so on. 

 

(3) Valve 

This valve is used for regular measurements, background measurements, and sensitivity 

adjustment (page 37). 

 

(4) Scattering Plate Knob 

This knob is used for regular measurements, background measurements, and sensitivity 

adjustment (page 37). 

 

(5) Air Cleaner Filter 

This filter is used to supply clean air to the dust detector. It requires periodic replacement 

(page 82). 

 

(6) Filter Holder Base 

This holds the filters used to collect dust (page 50). 

 

(7) Pump Protective Filter 

This filter is used to prevent contaminated air from being drawn into the pump. It requires 

periodic replacement (page 82). 

 

(8) Pump Cover 

The pump is installed under this cover. It is removed to remove the dust unit or replace the pump.
