Upper Helm Access Ladder, Grab Rails &
Sliding Hatch/Sunroof In Hardtop
11.8 Upper Helm Flybridge
The upper station is a powder coated, welded
aluminum frame that is bolted to the topside of
the hardtop. It is equipped with a control station
that provides full control of the boat from the up-
per helm and a sunshade.
A ladder built into the center rear of the hardtop
provides access to the upper station from the
cockpit. The aft facing bench seat and foot rest
are incorporated into the upper station access
system to provide steps to the ladder. Grab Rails
provide hand holds for safety.
The sun roof/access hatch in the hardtop above
the ladder and center seat section of the upper
helm lounge are opened when accessing the upper
station and closed for safety during operation. The
seat section is supported in the open position and
held down when it is folded to the seat position
by a gas spring.
WARNING
ACCIDENTALLY STEPPING INTO THE HARDTOP/UPPER
STATION ACCESS OPENING CAN CAUSE SEVERE INJURY
TO THE OPERATOR OR CREW. ALWAYS MAKE SURE THE
ACCESS HATCH IS CLOSED AND LATCHED WHENEVER
PEOPLE ARE IN THE UPPER STATION.
ALWAYS MAKE SURE THE SEAT SECTION AND SUNROOF/
ACCESS HATCH ARE CLOSED WHEN THE UPPER HELM IS
OCCUPIED.
The upper station lounge seat provides seating
for the operator and crew. Do not overload the
upper station. It is designed to hold the weight
of only four average-sized people. Remember
that weight in the upper station raises the boat’s
center of gravity. Too much weight could make
the boat unstable or damage the frame.
