Exterior Equipment

Side Boarding Door & Gate Closed & Latched

Transom Door and Gate

A door and gate is incorporated into the starboard

side of the transom. The gate is hinged and secured

with an automatic push to close latch. It is opened

by lifting the starboard side and swinging the gate

onto the aft gunnel.

The transom door can be opened when the gate

is open or closed. It is secured by a special latch

mounted on the inboard side of the door. The

door latch has a push button safety pin. When the

transom door is closed, make sure the latch is com-

pletely engaged and that the safety pin is engaged

to prevent the latch from opening accidentally.

The transom door and gate should only be opened

when the boat is not underway. The door and gate

must be latched in the closed position whenever

the boat is underway. Never leave the transom

door unlatched.

Notice:

Periodically inspect the transom door and

gate fittings for wear, damage or loose fit.

Any problems should be inspected and cor-

rected immediately.

WARNING

THE TRANSOM DOOR AND GATE SHOULD BE CLOSED
AND PROPERLY LATCHED WHENEVER THE ENGINES ARE
RUNNING. NEVER OPEN THE TRANSOM DOOR WHILE
UNDERWAY OR IN ROUGH SEA CONDITIONS. IN CERTAIN
SITUATIONS, AN OPEN TRANSOM DOOR COULD ALLOW A
SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF WATER TO ENTER THE COCKPIT
CREATING A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS CONDITION.

WARNING

OPERATING THE BOAT UNDER POWER WITH THE TRANSOM
DOOR AND GATE OPEN MAY ALLOW PERSONS TO FALL
OVERBOARD AND INTO BOAT PROPELLERS OR TO BE
LOST IN OPEN WATER. ALWAYS CHECK TO MAKE SURE THE
TRANSOM DOOR AND GATE ARE PROPERLY CLOSED AND
LATCHED BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINES AND NEVER
OPERATE THE BOAT UNDER POWER WITH THE TRANSOM
DOOR AND GATE OPEN.

Side Boarding Door and Ladder

A side boarding door and gate is incorporated in the

port rear hull side. The door provides divers and

swimmers easy, unobstructed access to the water

and cockpit. It also makes boarding and exiting

the boat much easier in many docking situations.
