If the e-bike is transported lying down or in a position other than “riding
position”, the brake system must be checked after transport by pulling
the brake levers. Look for signs of air in the brake system including an
undefined pressure point or unusually large travel of the lever.
Troubleshooting:
1. Position the e-bike in riding position with the front wheel resting
elevated (40-50 cm) from the ground so that the brake lever marks
the highest point of the brake hose. Now pull the respective brake lever
multiple times until the pressure point is restored.
2. If this doesn’t work the brake system has to be bled by a specialist
dealer.
When the wheels are removed for transport, the brake levers must not be
operated as this will change the position of the brake pistons and might
cause them to leak or even fall out during transport.
Take care that no objects interfere with the tooth belt of your e-bike, espe-
cially when transporting multiple bikes at once. Extra caution is advised
when transporting the e-bike with the rear wheel removed.
When you transport your e-bike on a bike rack mounted on a car, refer to
the following additional instructions
• Make sure that the bike rack is suitable for the weight of your e-bike.
• Check the manual of your car for information about the permissible
loads on roof or tow-bar and if the use of a bike rack is allowed.
9. Transport
If you want to temporarily twist the handlebar or remove
the pedals for transport, it is essential to follow the inst-
ructions in the paragraphs of this chapter!
The e-bike must not be transported upside-down and/or
supported by the handlebar.

9.1 Transport on a car bike rack
Lithium Ion batteries underly the requirements of
hazardous goods law. Private users may transport the
battery in a vehicle unconditionally. Commercial transport
(e.g. shipping) requires certain standards of packaging
and labelling (e.g. regulations of the ADR for transport of
hazardous goods).
