5. Programming Reference

ER

(Entry Route) Use this zone type for detectors sited between
the Final Exit door/detector and a Level keypad. If an ‘Entry
Route’ zone is violated when an area is set, an alarm will
occur. If the entry/exit timer is running when an Entry Route
zone is violated then no alarm occurs.

FL

(Flex) A zone of this type changes its type depending on
which Level is used to set the Area containing the zone.
Using Menu 44 you can program a Flexi-Zone to take the
type Normal Alarm, Entry Route, Final Exit or Not Used in
any of the four Levels.

Note: System programming allows four Flexi-Zones in any Level.

KS

(Keyswitch) This option allows you to connect a 3-position
keyswitch (Part/Off/Full) to a single zone and then allocate
Levels to the keyswitch’s Part and Full Set positions. Note
that you must use the same zone number when program-
ming Part and Full Set to different Levels.

24

(24 Hour Zones) This zone causes an internal alarm if
violated when an area is ‘Unset’, and a full alarm if the area
is ‘Set’. Providing the installer programs 24hr zones with
‘Omit Allow’, the user can omit 24 hour zones.

Menu 32 - Allocating Zones to Areas

The system can support four Areas.

Menu 32 - Zone Attributes

Specific zone types can have one or more of the following attributes:

C

(Chime) When enabled from user Menu 03, the system gives
a non-alarm warning tone when any zones programmed as
‘Chime’ are opened. This facility operates only while the area
containing the ‘Chime’ zone is ‘Unset’.

Note: ‘Chime’ is available only for FE, FL, ER, NA and CT zone types.

O

(Omit Allow) When applied to a zone, this attribute allows the
user to omit the zone.

Note: ‘Omit Allow’ is available only for ER, 24 Hour, and NA zone types.

D

(Double Knock) Zones with this attribute will cause an alarm
condition only if the sensor generates two alarms events
within a five minute time window, or if the zone remains open
for more than 10 seconds. Programming a zone as ‘Double
Knock’ is a way of reducing false alarms caused by environ-
mental changes.

Note: ‘Double Knock’ is available only for NA zone types.
