How To Use This Book
This book is divided into the following sections:
1: Overview gives a brief introduction to the 808.
2: Technical Specification lists the physical capabilities of the system, and
gives part numbers for compatible equipment.
3: Installation provides step by step instructions for physically installing the
808 end station and its keypads, wiring 2-wire Fully Supervised Loop (FSL)
sensors or 4-wire Closed Circuit sensors, and connecting sounders.
4: Programming describes how to enter and leave programming mode on
the 808, and gives a set of programming examples for standard applications.
5: Programming Reference lists the factory defaults for programming, and
gives detailed information about the meaning of other programming param-
eters, for example zone types and output types.
6: Testing gives step by step instructions for using the in-built testing
commands.
7: Fault Finding lists common error messages that may be encountered
during programming, and suggests causes and corrective actions.
If you have not installed an 808 before, read sections 1, 3
and 4 before starting.
