32-ZONE OPTIONS
Use this menu to set zone types, assign zones to Areas, and set zone
attributes
Menu 32 - Zone Types
Except where noted, you can assign zone types to any or all Areas.
NU (Not Used) The system ignores Zones with this type.
FR (Fire) Smoke or heat detectors connected to FR type zones
cause internal audible warning devices to give a distinctive
fire signal (internal sounders pulsing "Dee Dah Dee Dah...").
Fire alarms operate whether an area is set or unset and
cannot be omitted, and will always trigger communications if
fitted.
Note: You must assign FR zones to the Areas where they physically reside.
PA (Panic Alarm) Operating a device programmed as ‘Panic
Alarm’ will start either a silent alarm transmission to the
central station if a plug-on communicator is fitted, or an
audible alarm, depending on how you have programmed PA
Response, Menu 62. PA alarms operate whether an area is
set or unset, and cannot be omitted.
Note: You must assign PA zones to the Areas where they physically reside.
CT (Control) Opening a zone programmed as ‘Control’ causes
the system to activate all outputs programmed as ‘Control
Switch’. Closing the zone will not deactivate the output, but
the subsequent opening of this or another zone designated
as ‘Control’ will deactivate the outputs. Pressing the control
keys on the keypad (if enabled) will also operate the outputs.
Note: The system programming does not allow you to assign CT zones to any of the
Areas or Levels
NA (Normal Alarm) A zone programmed as ‘Normal Alarm’ will
start an instant alarm when an area is set. (See also "Menu
45 - Level Alarm Response").
FE (Final Exit) Zones of this type must be the last detector to be
activated on exit, or the first to be activated on entry. You
can use zones of this type to finally set the system, or to
start the entry procedure.
