Serial port
The pager can be connected to your PC through its serial port. Once
the desktop software is properly installed and the cradle is
connected to your PC, simply place the pager in the cradle. See
page 112 of this guide or refer to the RIM

Keyboard and trackwheel
The pager features a fully integrated QWERTY keyboard; you can
access numeric digits, punctuation, and special characters using the
ALT
key in combination with other keys.
Several key functions will provide access to such features as the
symbols library, while other keys are alternatives to using the
trackwheel. See Figure 2 on page 6 as well as the key assignment
chart beginning on page 7 for information on the pager’s keyboard,
key combinations, and trackwheel.
Keyboard and trackwheel details
Before you begin, acquaint yourself with the pager keyboard, key
functions, and trackwheel.
The curved, 31-key QWERTY keyboard is easily operable and
provides access to numeric characters and a symbols library. You
can use your thumbs to type messages easily. Use the trackwheel
by rolling it or pressing (clicking) it.
