WORKING DEPTH ADJUSTMENT
STANDARD OVERLOAD PROTECTION
Shear bolt
In the case of towing vehicles with double-acting rear lifting hitch, the hitch control must be set to the single-acting operating
mode; failure to observe this may result in damage to various components.
The working depth can be adjusted using the tractor´s hitch (lifting height of the lower links & length of the upper link) and the plow support
wheel so that the plow frame is aligned in the longitudinal axis parallel to the soil surface. The setting is correct, when the first as well as the
last plow forrow have an identical working depth. After a major change in the working depth, a corresponding adjustment of the camber
adjustment is required, since the furrow depth influences the inclination of the towing vehicle.
A little tip for the sake of the environment and your wallet: make sure that the working depth is set appropriately in order to optimize fuel and
wear costs (on one hectare of land you work around 100 to 140 tonnes more soil per additional centimeter of working depth).
At the beginning set the desired working
depth on the plow support wheel, the inst
-
ructions for this can be found in the chapter
„Support wheels“. Then the lifting height of the
rear linkage and the length of the top link can
be adjusted to the setting of the plow support
wheel.
Make sure that sufficient weight is transferred
from the plow to the towing vehicle. You can
do this by tensioning the top link a little. If the
setting is correct, the plow support wheel is
only loaded with little weight and the towing
vehicle has significantly more traction. When
using the elongated hole, the upper link pin
must be in tension in the front of the elonga-
ted hole.
The plow support wheel should not be loaded

with the full plow weight!
In order to always guarantee the best possible traction of the tractor, please ensure that
the pull line of the top link intersects the front axle of the towing vehicle (see illustration).
If this is not the case, the top link must be mounted differently. The top link can be mounted
on the tractor at different heights; this can usually be done by group of holes.
In addition, the position of the top link can be adjusted on the plow´s linkage tower.
The correct setting is achieved when all plow bodies work at the same depth, as can
be seen in the illustration above.
Shear bolts are special screws and differ significantly from standard screws in terms of shaft length and strength. To prevent da

mage to components, only use original
Regent
shear bolts.
The strength (release force) of the shear bolt „A“ is adapted and calculated to the
construction of the plow. As soon as a certain resistance occurs due to obstacles in the
soil (e.g. stones), the shear bolt „A“ shears off suddenly and the overloaded plow body
can move backwards. After triggering a shear bolt „A“, plowing work must be stopped
immediately and the shear pin „A“ has to be replaced.
Renew the shear bolts:
¾
Remove broken parts of the defective shear bolt „A“.
¾
Loosen the screw „B“ a little.
¾
Bring the plow body into its original position and fix it there (attention: danger of
pinching!).
¾
Remove the broken piece of screw from the plow leg. To do this, use a punch
and hammer and knock it out.
¾
Insert a new original
Regent
- shear bolt and tighten it with the specified tor
-
que (you can find the correct torque in the table below).
¾
Tighten the rotary screw „B“ with approx. 200 Nm.
