CAMBER ADJUSTMENT
Plowing up the slope
Dry conditions
Sticky conditions
Basic setting
Camber spindle
The camber setting is used to be able to adjust the plow straight in spite of an inclined position of the towing vehicle. It is important to carry
out this setting precisely, as an inclined position of the plow results in a different working depth for all plow bodies.
The camber setting must be the same (symmetrical) on both sides; if the setting is different between the two sides, the overlap between
two passages would not fit.
Before starting the camber adjustment, the lift struts of the rear linkage must be 100% adjusted to the same height. The tire pres
-
sure must be absolutely identical on both sides, otherwise a correct camber setting would be impossible.
Adjustment procedure:
¾
Move the hydraulic turning cylinder „C“ together a little to relieve
the camber spindles „A“.
¾
Use the adjusting knob „B“ to turn the spindles.
¾
Enlarge camber: Turn the camber spindles „A“ clockwise.
¾
Reduce camber
: Turn the camber spindles „A“ counterclockwise.
¾
Extend the hydraulic turning cylinder „C“ to the camber stop.
The spindle bearing block “D” is provided with a spring-loaded steel
ball to prevent the camber spindles from rotating unintentionally. The
spindle is secured, when the steel ball engages in the groove „E“ of
the camber spindle (you hear a click, then the spindle is secured).
First set the working depth in accordance with the chapter „Depth adjustment“ and then start to plow a full length (first passage).
Do not start with the camber adjustment until the second passage (the towing vehicle must stand in the furrow).
Stop the towing vehicle and leave the plow in the ground (in working position).
Now look at the plow from behind in the direction of travel and check whether the vertically extended line between two landsides „Line A“ is
at right angles (90 °) to the soil surface.
too much camber
too little camber
correctly
The plow is working too deep at the rear
Remedy: Turn the camber spindles
counter-clockwise.
The plow is oriented at right angles to
the soil surface. All plow bodies work at
the same depth.
The plow is working too shallow at the rear
Remedy: Turn the camber spindles
clockwise.
When plowing up a slope, it is advantageous to press the turned
earth bar (furrow) slightly up the slope. To do this, set less camber
(turn camber spindles clockwise). You can also reduce the width
of the front furrow if necessary.
Especially in dry and hard conditions, it is an advantage to turn the
plow a little on its tip (turn the camber spindles clockwise).
If soil sticks to the mouldboards (e.g. extreme dryness or boggy
soils), it can be advantageous to let the plow work more pouring.
You can do this by turning the plow on its tip (more camber, tur
-
ning camber spindles clockwise).
Basically, SKL- slattet bodies are to be used for such conditions.
