HYDRAULIC TURNING
SEQUENCE TURN CONTROL
FTS-System / Memory alignment cylinder / Alignment cylinder
STANDARD TURN CONTROL
Titan standard cutting width cylinder / Eurostar without alignment cylinder
A special reversing valve is used for plows with alingment/memory cylinder, which also controls additional functions when turning. During a
turning process, the frame is first completely retracted (to increase the clearance between the plow and the ground when turning), then
the valve starts the turning process automatically and moves the frame back to the previously set cutting width after the turning process
has ended (automatic sequence: frame sing in - turning - frame swing out).
One single acting spool valve and one unpressurized return flow are required for operation.
Operation:
Operation:
¾
Make sure that there are no people in the danger zone (uninvolved persons must keep 3 meters safety distance).
¾
Lift the plow so high that there is sufficient space between the plow components (support wheel, disc coulter etc.) and the ground when
turning.
¾
Apply with the tractor´s spool valve pressure to „port P“ of the plow´s reversing valve, port R must be coupled to an unpressurized return flow.
¾
The turn control starts with the turning phase as follows:
Rotation phase sequence 1
Rotation phase sequence 1
1. The lock cylinder of the pendulum wheel HVS-system goes to dislocked
state (see chapter „pendulum wheel or depth/transport wheel“).
2. The alingment/memory cylinder contracts to the smallest width.
3. When the frame has been swung in, the plow turning cylinder
starts to move apart completely (to dead center).
4. The automatic reversing valve changes the control direction of
the plow turning cylinder exactly at the dead center.
Rotation phase sequence 1
Rotation phase sequence 1
5. The plow turning cylinder retracts completely and the rotation stops.
6. When the turning process is finished, the alingment/memory
cylin-
der moves to the preset cutting width.
7. The lock cylinder of the pendulum wheel HVS-system goes to locked
state (see chapter „pendulum wheel or depth/transport wheel“).
¾
If you recognize during the turning process that the space between plow and soil is too small, stop the turning process immediately
(switch the tractor´s spool valve to neutral and then turn back the plow to the starting position). Increase the clearance between the
plow and the ground by evenly shortening the two lifting struts (chapter lifting linkage, point A), changing the top link geometry (top
link on the towing vehicle as far down as possible, on the plow up) or by using a suitable tractor with more lifting height / stronger hitch.
¾
For plows with a pendulum or depth/transport wheel, keep (port P) under pressure for about 3 seconds after the turning process is
completed so that the hydraulic pre-roll lock (HVS) of the support wheel
goes to locked state
.
¾
If the plow is to be turned over to the other side again, the hydr. control unit (port P) is to be switched to neutral for approx. 10 se
-
conds, then the port P can be pressurized again, the sequence control starts again.
