CUTTING WIDTH ADJUSTMENT
EUROSTAR- Manual cutting width adjustment
EUROSTAR - Change the cutting width
EUROSTAR - Alignment cylinder
The cutting width can be individually adjusted for specific conditions and requirements.
The cutting width affects several factors, including;
¾
Structural properties such as crumbling, drying out or shaping the earth beam.
¾
Physical properties such as tractive effort, fuel consumption or clearance to the ground during a turning process.
¾
Free space between the plow bodies, especially with a lot of organic mass, a larger cutting width can increase the free space bet
-
ween the plow bodies and thus enable work to be carried out without blockage.
The adjustment can be done via a multi-stage group of holes (DETAIL A). The front screw (DETAIL A, marking B) serves as the fulcrum.
The rear screw (DETAIL A, marking C) can be inserted at various positions in the group of holes and determines the angle between
the plow body and the plow frame and thus defines the cutting width. The possible cutting widths and the associated settings of the
hole group can be read on the sticker (DETAIL A, marking D) next to the first leg holder. Whenever the cutting width is changed, the
side spindle „A“ must also be adjusted. For this purpose, a scale is integrated in the locking flap of the side spindle (DETAIL B, marking
F), with which the correct spindle length can be set. The width of the side spindle must always coincide with the position of the leg
holder (cutting width). So for example when the leg holder is in position „B“ the spindle must also be moved to position „B“- the setting
of these two components must always match.
¾
Loosen the screw (B) slightly.
¾
Remove the screw (C).
¾
Use the hitch to lift the plow off the ground
until the plow bodies no longer have contact
with the ground.
¾
Turn the spindle holder to the desired new
position.
¾
Insert the screw (C) and tighten it with
approx. 150 Nm.
¾
Tighten the screw (B) to approx. 200 Nm.
¾
Use the sticker (D) to determine which setting
position is set (A / B / C / D).
¾
The side spindle must now be set to this set
-
ting position (A / B / C / D).
¾
To do this, open the linch pin (F) and swivel
the locking flap (E) away from the spindle
(towards the frame).
¾
Turn the (A) spindle until the red marking on
the spindle is in the correct position of the
locking flap (A / B / C / D).
¾
Swing the locking flap (E) back to lock the spind
-
le and secure the flap with the linch pin (F).
¾
If the plow has a side pull after changing the
working width, follow the instructions from the
chapter on „plough pull line“.
If the clearance between the ground and plow is too small when turning,
the equipment „Alignment cylinder“ is necessary. With this system, the side
spindle is combined with a hydraulic cylinder. During a turning process, the
frame reversing cylinder first swivels in the plow frame in order to increase
the space between the ground and the plow. The control of the turning
process runs fully automatically and is detailed in the chapter „
SEQUENCE
TURN CONTROL
“.
The cutting width is to set in the same way as for plows without a alignment
cylinder, follow the instructions from the section „EUROSTAR - changing the
cutting width“.
