83. Scale out cabling between 3 systems  

1. Insert 40Gb transceivers into ports 49 (M1) and 51 (M3) of System Interconnects 1 and 2 

on the new 

system

, for a total of four transceivers plugged in.

2. Disconnect and reconnect your OM3/OM4 cables to the transceivers you plugged in as follows:

Warning: 

Disconnect one cable at a time, otherwise you lose connectivity to 

your system entirely. 

d. Disconnect the cable in System 1, System Interconnect 1, port 51 and connect it to System 3, 

System Interconnect 1, port 51.

e. Disconnect the cable in System 1, System Interconnect 2, port 51 and connect it to System 3, 

System Interconnect 2, port 51.

f. Connect System 3, System Interconnect 1, port 49 to System 1, System Interconnect 1, port 51.
g. Connect System 3, System Interconnect 2, port 49 to System 1, System Interconnect 2, port 51.

13.5 Opening Interconnect Ports

If the defaults were changed, reconfigure the ports on your systems for the links to come up. 

1. Reconfigure the System Interconnects on the existing system:

a. Connect an Ethernet cable from your laptop to port 44 on System Interconnect 1 of the existing 

system.

b. Reconfigure the System Interconnects on the existing system:
a. Create an alias on your laptop to 

System Interconnect 1

 on the existing system:

Note: 

Change the IP address in the first alias to match your network settings, but 

do not change the link-local IP address in the second alias.
