5-39. Platen Open Switch

b. Installation

ă1. Connect leads (3) to switch (4).
ă2. Place switch (4), spacer (5), and nut plate (6) on left side plate (7).
ă3. Install two screws (1) and washers (2). Do not tighten.
ă4. Position switch (4) so that Forms Thickness Adjustment Lever (8) activates it when lever

is .75 to 1 inch from the 6 position.

ă5. Install cover per paragraph 5-17b.
ă6. Replace paper in printer.

5-40. DC Power Supply Fuse (Figure 5-36)

a. Removal

-

WARNING

-

High electrical potentials may be present at power supply even with power

disconnected. Exercise care; severe injury or death is possible.

ă1. Disconnect power cord (1). Wait five minutes before continuing.
ă2. Loosen two fasteners (2) and allow rear door (3) to swing open.
ă3. Swing out card cage (4).
ă4. On capacitor C1 (5), temporarily install a 1K, 10W resistor between C1+ and chassis

ground.

ă5. On capacitor C3 (6), temporarily install a 1K, 10W resistor between C3+ and ground.
ă6. Inspect fuses F1 (7), F2 (8), and F3 (9) on power supply PCBA (10).

b. Installation

ă1. Replace any blown fuse with fast blow type. See below.
