P6040/P6080 Corrective Maintenance

5-38. Paper Out Optical Sensor (Figure 5-34)

a. Removal

ă1. Remove printer cover per paragraph 5-17a.
ă2. Swing out card cage (1).
ă3. Remove two screws (2) and star washers (3).
ă4. Slide power supply (4) toward rear of printer to gain access to paper out switch assembly

(5).

ă5. Disconnect connector PSP5 (6) from power supply PCBA (7). Cut cable ties as necessary

to free cable to switch assembly (5).

ă6. Remove two nuts (8) and washers (9).
ă7. Separate sensor PCBA (10), sensor support (11), and cover (12) from belt coveră(13).
ă8. Remove two nuts (14).
ă9. Lift prism (15) off belt cover (13).

b. Installation

ă1. Place prism (15) on belt cover (13).
ă2. Install two nuts (14).
ă3. Place sensor PCBA (10), sensor support (11), and cover (12) on belt cover (13).
ă4. Install two nuts (8) and washers (9).
ă5. Connect connector PSP5 (6) to power supply PCBA (7). Retie cable as necessary.
ă6. Put power supply (4) back in place.
ă7. Install two screws (2) and star washers (3).
ă8. Swing card cage (1) back into place.
ă9. Install printer cover per paragraph 5-17b.

5-39. Platen Open Switch (Figure 5-35)

a. Removal

ă1. Remove paper from printer.
ă2. Remove cover per paragraph 5-17a.
ă3. Remove two screws (1) and washers (2).
ă4. Disconnect leads (3) from switch (4).
ă5. Separate switch (4), spacer (5), and nut plate (6) from left side plate (7).
