4-5. Performance Tests

The following procedures describe tests to be performed with the Exerciser. Performance tests

may also be performed using internal logic (see User's Reference Manual) or the host computer.

These tests are helpful for checking print quality and verifying repairs.

a. Shift Recycle Test - Sliding Pattern (Figure 4-32)

ă1. Load printer with full width single part paper.

ă2. Set Exerciser controls as follows:

LINE LENGTH = 132

CHARACTER = SRO-96 if lowercase character set is installed

SRO-64 if uppercase character set is installed.

SPECIAL = None

FUNCTION = LINE FEED

ă3. Place printer online. Print one-half page of the pattern and take printer offline.

ă4. Examine the printout. All characters should appear in each line of print and look like FigĆ

ure 4-32.
