P6040/P6080 Corrective Maintenance

5-26. Counterweight Assembly (Figure 5-22)

a. Removal

ă1. Remove power cord (1).

ă2. Open front cover (2).

ă3. Loosen two captive screws (3).

ă4. Remove cam cover (4) and attached gasket (5).

ă5. Remove five screws (6) and one shoulder screw (7).

ă6. Remove cam cover plate (8) and gasket (9).

ă7. Reinstall shoulder screw (7).

ă8. Remove three screws (10).

ă9. Gently pry out lower counter shaft assembly (11).

10. Remove two screws (12), plate (13), and leaf spring (14).

11. Lift counterweight (15) upward away from cam (16). Counterweight (15), spring spacer

(17), shims (18), washers (19), and upper counterbalance (20) will come free.

12. Remove two screws (21).

13. Separate cam follower (22) and gasket (23) from counterweight (15).

b. Installation

ă1. Position cam follower (22) and gasket (23) on counterweight (15).

ă2. Install two screws (21).

ă3. Install counterweight (15), spring spacer (17), shims (18), washers (19), and upper counĆ

terbalance (20).

ă4. Press lower counter shaft assembly (11) into place.

ă5. Install three screws (10).

ă6. Install two screws (12), plate (13), and leaf spring (14).

ă7. Remove shoulder screw (7).

ă8. Install cam cover plate (8) and gasket (9).

ă9. Install five screws (6) and shoulder screw (7).

10. Install cam cover (4) and attached gasket (5).

11. Tighten two captive screws (3).

12. Close front cover (2).

13. Connect power cord (1).
