P6040/P6080 Corrective Maintenance

Section III. REPLACEMENT

5-17. Printer Cover (Figure 5-13)

a. Removal

ă1. Disconnect power cord (1) and I/O cable (2).
ă2. Remove six screws (3).

CAUTION

-

Support rear door when opening. If allowed to fall unsupported, damage

to printer may result.

ă3. Loosen two fasteners (4) and open rear door (5).
ă4. Remove nut (6), star washer (7), and lug (8) on door support cable (9) from threaded lug

(10).

NOTE: It is not necessary to remove ground straps or the door hinge.

ă5. Lift front cover (11) until retaining clips (12) clear pegs (13). Slide cover (11) forward

slightly.

ă6. Lift rear cover (14) and set on front cover (11).
ă7. Swing out card cage (15). Remove two screws (16).
ă8. Disconnect connector LBP1 (17). Cut cable ties as necessary to free covers.
ă9. Lift off covers (11, 14) from base (18) and set aside.

b. Installation

ă1. Place covers (11, 14) on base (18).
ă2. Connect connector LBP1 (17).
ă3. Install two screws (16). Retie cable as necessary.
ă4. Swing card cage (15) back into place.
ă5. Make sure retaining clips (12) engage pegs (13).
ă6. Fold down rear cover (14).
ă7. Install nut (6), star washer (7), and lug (8) attached to door support cable (9) on threaded

lug (10).

ă8. Close rear door (5) and secure fasteners (4).
ă9. Install six screws (3). Connect I/O cable (2) and power cord (1).
