5-13. Shuttle Belt (Figure 5-9)

a. Tension Check

ă1. Gain access to belt by performing steps 1-4 of paragraph 5-26a.
ă2. Observe belt (1) and press down in middle.
ă3. If belt deflection is significantly more or less than 0.25 inches, perform b below.

b. Adjustment

ă1. Remove covers per paragraph 5-17a.
ă2. Loosen four nuts (2).
ă3. Position motor (3) to obtain proper belt tension. Do not allow motor to tilt.
ă4. Tighten four nuts (2).
ă5. Replace covers per paragraph 5-17b.
ă6. Replace cam cover by performing steps 10 through 13 of paragraph 5-26b.

5-14. Paper Feed Belt (Figure 5-10)

a. Tension Check

ă1. Open front cover (1).
ă2. Press down at center of paper feed belt (2).
ă3. If belt deflects significantly more or less than 1/16 inch, adjust tension per b, below.
ă4. Close front cover (1).

b. Adjustment

ă1. Remove covers per paragraph 5-17a.
ă2. Loosen four screws (3).

CAUTION

-

Do not use tools to apply leverage to motor during adjustment as damage

to printer is possible.

ă3. Position motor (4) to establish tension described in a, above.
ă4. Tighten four screws (3).
ă5. Install covers per paragraph 5-17b.
