Defective bolted con-
nection through use of
unauthorized compo-
nents and wheels
Unsuitable wheel sizes or incorrectly dimensioned
components in the hub area of accessory wheels can
cause components to break or become damaged.
The use of additional spacers can also impair the
overall function of the wheel mounting.
e Only use components that have been approved
by Porsche.
e Never use spacers.
NOTICE
The heavy impacts caused by an impact wrench
damage the central bolt and retainer.
The reaction arm of a cordless impact wrench can
damage the rims.
When using a cordless impact wrench without a re-
action arm, the high torque may be too high to
counterhold, resulting in a risk of tilting.

NOTICE
The wheel must not be resting on the ground when
installing or removing the bolt and must be able to
turn freely. The weight of the vehicle will otherwise
lead to stresses and imbalance in the bolted
connection.
e Ensure that the vehicle is not resting on the
wheel being secured during the fitting process.
e Only use suitable torque wrenches.
Information
The tools and greases needed for changing wheels
(e.g. jack, torque wrench, aluminum paste, etc.) are
not included in the standard scope of supply for the
vehicle.

Information
The tire and wheel sizes on both axles are different.
When removing the wheels, mark the direction of
rotation and position on each wheel and carry out
the installation according to these markings.
e Only use wheels/tires with approved dimensions
for the relevant axle.
Preparing a wheel
The Porsche central lock is a matched, complete
system comprising:
– Wheel.
– Central bolt with retainer.
– Brake disk.
– Wheel bolt.
– Wheel hub.
– Lock cover.
Have wheel changes performed by an authorized
Porsche dealer. Porsche recommends an authorized
Porsche dealer, as they have trained technicians and
the necessary parts and tools.

1. Open the luggage compartment and open the
plastic cover A .
2. Remove the socket. The central bolt may only be
unscrewed using this original socket. Always
keep the socket in the luggage compartment so
that it is available in case of a breakdown.
