NOTICE
Risk of damage to the front and rear spoilers.
e
Never pull or push the vehicle by the rear spoiler.
e
Reduced chassis clearance when the front spoil-
er is extended.
e Retract all spoilers before using an automatic car
wash.
NOTICE
If the spoilers are extended to the performance po-
sition manually or through SPORT PLUS mode, the
spoilers do not retract when the vehicle comes to a
stop.
e Take the reduced ground clearance into account
when parking or in parking garages, for example.
The extendable spoilers improve driving stability at
high speeds. The front and rear spoilers can be
moved to a total of four positions:
– Start position: The front and rear spoilers are
fully retracted for a high degree of day-to-day
usability, such as when driving on ramps and
garage entrances.
– Speed position: The front and rear spoilers are
partially extended for high driving stability, low
air resistance and a high final speed.
– Performance position: The front and rear spoilers
are extended and the rear spoiler is tilted for
maximum performance, such as for on a
racetrack.
– Wet position: Rear spoiler fully retracted, rear
spoiler extended for maximum driving stability.
Automatic mode
The spoilers extend and retract automatically de-
pending on the vehicle speed and the driving
program selected. A warning appears on the instru-
ment cluster if automatic control fails.

Manual mode
When the ignition is switched on, the spoilers can be
extended and retracted manually via the PCM.
Information
The selected spoiler position can be stored in
INDIVIDUAL mode.
Extending and retracting manually
1. Select CAR e DRIVE e Spoiler .
2. Current speed < 9 mph (15 km/h): Press and
hold the Spoiler button until the spoilers have
reached their final position.
– or –
Current speed > 9 mph (15 km/h): Press the
Spoiler button briefly.
The spoilers enter automatic mode following
retraction.
Linkage to SPORT PLUS mode
In SPORT PLUS mode, the spoilers are extended to
the Performance position at speeds above
9 mph (15 km/h). The maximum speed cannot be
achieved in this position.
The spoilers are not retracted automatically.
