intervention can occur.
e
Drive with extreme care.
e
Keep the direction of travel and the lane lines in
view at all times.
e
Clean the camera lens regularly and keep free of
snow and ice.
e
Do not cover the camera lens.
e
Check the windshield for damage in the area of
the camera lens at regular intervals.
Information
e
If there is a fault in the system or if Lane Keep
Assist does not function as described in this
section, do not use Lane Keep Assist. Visit an
authorized Porsche dealer.
Porsche recommends an authorized Porsche
dealer, as they have trained technicians and the
necessary parts and tools.
WARNING
Failure of corrective
steering intervention
On sharper bends and when the Lane Keep Assist is
active, corrective steering intervention is not enough
to keep the vehicle in the lane. It can also be the case
that the Lane Keep Assist is automatically deacti-
vated before or in the bend and no corrective steer-
ing intervention takes place.
e
Drive with extreme care.
e
Always hold the steering wheel with both hands.
Information
The driver's steering behavior is monitored when
Lane Keep Assist is active. If no further steering ac-
tivity is detected and the vehicle looks on several
occasions like it is moving out of its lane, an acoustic
and visual warning message is emitted by the in-
strument cluster and the driver is prompted to take
over steering.
If the driver does not respond to this, Lane Keep As-
sist switches to a passive mode (see status display).
Steering intervention on the part of the driver re-
activates Lane Keep Assist.
If the Lane Keep Assist has to intervene for a pro-
longed period of time, an acoustic and visual warning
message is emitted by the instrument cluster and
the driver is prompted to align the vehicle in the
center of the lane.
Switching Lane Keep Assist on
and off
Lane Keep Assist can be switched on and off in the
PCM.
