Upshifting with right "+" gearshift paddle
e Pull right shift paddle
Downshifting with left "-" gearshift paddle

Pull left shift paddle.
Shifting to N – Neutral with the gearshift paddles
e Pull both gearshift paddles simultaneously, then
release them immediately.
The transmission shifts to N - Neutral The ve-
hicle then rolls in neutral with the engine disen-
gaged and without engine braking. The number
in the gear display flashes for the last activated
operating mode D or M .
Pulling a gearshift paddle or selecting D , R or M will
reengage a drive position.
Information
The clutch will not be closed again below a certain
speed threshold. The desired operating mode must
then be engaged again from N while pressing the
brake pedal.
Upshift indicator for fuel consumption-optimized
driving
The fuel economy-oriented upshift indicator makes
it easier for you to save fuel while driving. The up-
shift indicator
lights up depending on the se-
lected gear, engine speed and accelerator pedal
position, prompting you to shift to a higher gear.
e Shift to the next-higher gear when the upshift
indicator
lights up.
Actuating the kick-down function
The kickdown function is active in operating mode D .
e For optimum acceleration, e.g. when overtaking,
depress the accelerator pedal quickly as far as it
will go (kickdown).
Depending on the driving speed and the engine
speed, the transmission will downshift.
Upshifting takes place at the highest possible
engine speeds.
Driving in coasting mode
In coasting mode, the engaged gear is automatically
disengaged and the engine braking effect avoided.
The vehicle rolls in neutral.
Manual coasting mode can be initiated by the driver.
Automatic coasting mode (not for 911 Turbo,
911 Turbo S) is initiated automatically by the sys-
tem if necessary.
Initiating manual coasting mode

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) not activated.

Porsche InnoDrive (PID) not activated.
1. Remove your foot from the accelerator pedal
completely.
2. Use the gearshift paddle to manually shift up
beyond the highest possible gear.
Coasting mode is initiated.
Exiting coasting mode

Press the accelerator pedal.
– or –
Shift with the shift paddle.
The engine is engaged again and coasting mode
is exited.
Driving off with Launch Control

Vehicles with Sport Chrono package.
WARNING
Loss of control over the
vehicle or endangering
other road users
In some situations (poor road conditions, driver in-
attention, etc.) control over the vehicle may be lost
or other road users may be endangered as a result.
e Only use Launch Control on public roads if the
road and traffic conditions permit.
e Do not endanger other road users when using
Launch Control.
Information
Stresses on components increase significantly when
driving off at maximum acceleration compared to
normal driving off.
