PVT SYSTEM ADJUSTMENTS
BELT DEFLECTION INSPECTION /
ADJUSTMENT
INSPECTION
Measure belt deflection with both clutches at rest and in
their full neutral position.
Place a straight edge on the belt and apply downward
pressure while measuring midway between both
clutches. This measurement should be 1.25 in (3.2 cm).
MEASUREMENT
Belt Deflection:
1.25 in (3.2 cm)
ADJUSTMENT
1. Loosen the 11 mm jam nut on the belt width adjuster
screw.
2. Using a 3 mm Allen wrench, turn the set screw inward
(clockwise) to increase the distance between the
sheaves (increase deflection) or outward (counter-
clockwise) to decrease the distance (decrease
deflection).
3. Lightly tighten the jam nut
q
while holding the set
screw stationary.
4. Using the L-wrench, open the driven clutch sheaves
.50 in (1.27 cm).
5. Torque the deflection jam nut while holding the set
screw stationary.
TORQUE
Deflection Screw Jam Nut:
145 in-lbs (16 N·m)
6. Rotate the belt clockwise while removing the L-
wrench
