ASSEMBLY
1. Assemble brake master cylinder in a clean
environment. Only use new, fresh DOT 4 brake fluid.
Clean all valve components with brake cleaners and
allow to air dry.
2. If the piston valve was removed from the valve body
bore, reinstall it and verify the seal is fully seated.
3. If the brake switch was removed, press the switch

into the valve body and verify the plunger is facing
outward. Install the brake switch guard

and brake
switch guard fastener
e
.
NOTICE
When installing the brake switch guard, make sure the
wire is secured in the routing tab of the brake switch
guard.
TORQUE
Brake Switch Guard Fastener:
Until Fully Seated
4. Verify the O-ring is installed on the top side of the
valve body.
5. Install reservoir
r
and inner reservoir fastener
t
.
Torque fastener to specification.
TORQUE
Inner Reservoir Fastener:
6-8 in-lbs (0.68-0.90 N·m)
6. The master cylinder assembly should resemble what
is shown when the reservoir is installed and the brake
switch wire routed properly.
7. Install the brake lever and hinge pin.
8. Reinstall the master cylinder / lever assembly on the
handlebar. Locate assembly in desired position and
torque clamp fasteners to specification. Do not pinch
the brake switch wire in the handlebar clamp.
TORQUE
Master Cylinder Handlebar Clamp Fasteners:
60-80 in-lbs (6.8-9 N·m)
