MR Screen

•
the current status of the patient’s medical record;
•
any transfer-in details, if they exist; and
•
action dates, whether drugs have been dispensed, and so on.
NOTE

Unlike the old M1 screen (which this screen replaced), the cursor is by
default placed in the Key field, rather than the Quick Update field.
If you want to change this default cursor position, go to the SP-A screen
and change the entry for the field Default cursor position to Quick Update
field on MR Screen (Y/N)? from “N” to “Y”.
Be aware that this will only work if the screen is accessed when unfrozen.
If the screen is frozen, the cursor position will default to the Key field.
Using the MR Screen
You can use the initial MR screen to search for patients who match the criteria you
specify, using either:
•
their NHS number only
•
their name (surname and optionally their forenames)
•
their date of birth
•
their current medical record status
•
the date the current status was changed
•
the reason for movement (the addition or deduction code)
•
the date of movement.
NOTE

When using the MR screen to search for patient medical records, please
be aware of the following:
•
If you search using an NHS number you cannot use any other search
criteria.
•
You can only search using either patient criteria in the upper part of
the screen, such as NHS number or name and date of birth, or by
using the organisation details in the lower half of the screen, such as
GP code and current medical record status. You cannot search using
both patient and organisation criteria.
•
If the system uniquely matches the search criteria you have entered,
you will see the MR patient details screen.
•
Alternatively, the system will display the RS (Record Selection)
screen if the search criteria you specify matches with more than
one patient’s details.
Once you have found the patient’s medical record you can use the MR patient details
screen to:
•
update the patient’s medical record status
