5. Hit the Y key to delete the selected additional patient note – or notes – from the
chosen patient. If any other key is pressed, no deletion will take place.
NOTE

Once the Y key is hit, the note will be deleted. Pressing the restore key
PF2 after this box has closed will not restore any deleted notes.
Directions to Perform a Bulk Deletion of Additional Patient Notes
The deletion of notes using this method will remove the note from all patients with
which it is associated, not just from the selected patient.
1. Press the normal pop-up keys (usually Ctrl L ) from the Qualifier field.
This will display a pop-up box showing a list of all the additional patient notes
currently associated with patients as shown below.

For each note, the following details are displayed:
•
the note ID
•
the application from which the note was set up
•
the first 36 characters of the note
•
the date and time that the note was created
•
the total number of patients who have the note
•
a deletion input field.
2. Enter a Y in the Del? input field for each note to be marked for deletion. Leave
the field blank if the note is to be kept.
3. If there are more additional patient notes than will fit on one page of the pop-up
box,
>> will be displayed at the bottom of the pop-up box. Press the Page Down
key to display the next page of the list of notes. Press the Page Up key to
redisplay the previous page of notes.
4. Press the Enter key to close the pop-up box. If one or more notes have been
selected for deletion a further pop-up box will open showing the number of
additional patient notes which have been selected for deletion and asking for
confirmation of the deletion.
