New GP Name
If the selected patients need to be informed of a change of GP in their letters,
{NEWGPNM} can be entered, as a data item, anywhere on the letter. The text entered
in this field will replace every occurrence of {NEWGPNM}. The title of the doctor
also needs to be included, e.g. Dr. S. Harridan.
Add. Items
An additional item is a piece of text or data that is common to all letters for a group of
patients, but will only be known when the letter is printed.
The text entered in this field will be inserted within a letter, every time the system
finds the corresponding item name. For example, {ADDITEM1} could be a particular
date when a new GP is starting.
Health Authority Title/Address
Set this field to Y if you want your organisation’s title and address to be printed on
letters. If you do not want the title and address printed (if you are using headed paper
for example), either enter
N in this field or leave it blank.
Sort Sequence Rule
Items within the prints produced by AJ-LLSE can be sorted in any one of 12 ways.
The sort sequence rule can either be selected by entering one of the numbers 1 to 12 in
this field, or via a pop-up box. The significance of the numbers 1 to 12 is:
1. Items sorted by patient’s surname only. This is also the default if nothing is
selected in this field.
2. Items sorted in order of GP code, then Patient Surname.
3. Items sorted in order of GP code, then Patient Postcode, then Patient Surname.
4. Items sorted in order of Partnership code, then Patient Surname.
5. Items sorted in order of Partnership code, then GP code, then Patient Surname.
6. Items sorted in order of Partnership code, then Patient Postcode, then Patient
Surname.
7. Items sorted in order of Patient Postcode, then Patient Surname.
8. Items sorted in order of Patient Postcode, then Premise Number (if one exists),
then Patient Surname.
9. Items sorted in order of PCG/PCT code, then Partnership code, then Patient
Surname.
10. Items sorted in order of PCG/PCT code, then Partnership code, then GP code,
then Patient Surname.
11. Items sorted in order of PCG/PCT code, then Partnership code, then Patient
Postcode, then Patient Surname.
12. Items sorted in order of PCG/PCT code, then Patient Postcode, then Patient
Surname.
To display the pop-up box, position the cursor on this field, and then press the key
combination normally used at your organisation. (This will usually mean pressing the
Ctrl and L keys together, but the key combination may vary depending on local
