CD-DA – Compact Disk
Digital Audio
A CD for recording music using a music CD standard called CD-Digital Audio. Commonly
referred to as “music CDs” or “Audio CDs”.
CD-EXTRA
A music CD (CD-DA: see above) to which video images or still images in video format have
been added to a second session.
CD-R
A CD on which data can be written only once. Data can also be added as long as the volume
is within the writing capacity of the disk. Because data can only be written once and cannot be
erased.

On this computer, data can be written to CD-R disks using B’s Recorder.
CD-ROM
A “read-only” disk on which data has been recorded for computer processing. Data cannot be
written on or erased from a CD-ROM.
CD-RW
A CD that enables writing, erasing, and rewriting of data.

On this computer, you can write, erase, or rewrite data using B's Recorder/B's CLiP.
CD-TEXT
A CD that allows text information such as the album, song title, or the name of the artist to be
recorded on the music CD (CD-DA: above). To view the text information, you must have a CD-
ROM drive or CD player compatible with CD-TEXT. A regular music CD player can be used to
play back the music segments recorded on a CD-TEXT disk.
