RANSMITTING AND RECEIVING

from the memory:
c)
If transmission to one or more recipients is
not successful during a broadcast trans-
mission, a broadcast report is printed on
completion of the process indicating the out-
come for each recipient on the list.
d)
If transmission is unsuccessful due to the
number being engaged, the fax machine will
retry the number up to three times. After the
last unsuccessful attempt, once programmed,
a report is printed out with a code indicating
the type of error.
RECEIVING A DOCUMENT
You can set the fax machine to receive documents in
four different ways, which can be accessed by
pressing the
key.
♦
Manual reception, for whenever you want to
answer calls personally.
♦
Automatic reception, for when you are absent,
but wish to receive faxes anyway. (This is the
mode in which the fax machine is preset).
♦
Automatic reception with call type recogni-
tion. In this reception mode, the fax machine
connects to the phone line after a certain number
of rings, and is able to recognise whether the in-
coming call is a fax or phone call.
♦
Using an external answering machine. In this
mode, the answering machine receives calls, re-
cords any messages from the caller, and if it rec-
ognises that the call is from a fax machine it al-
lows the fax machine to receive the call.
IF THE FAX MACHINE RUNS OUT OF PAPER
OR INK OR THERE IS A POWER FAILURE
Thanks to its memory, the fax machine will still be
able to receive even if:
•
there is no paper,
•
there is no ink or print head.
If the paper runs out or jams during reception or if
the ink runs out, the fax machine stops printing and
the display shows the appropriate message. The
document being received will be stored in the
memory temporarily. Once the problem has been
solved, the fax will continue printing.
In case of a power failure, the fax machine will re-
tain the date and time, the numbers programmed for
one-touch or speed dialling and the reports in its
memory. Documents in the memory will be retained
for half an hour, after which they will be lost. In this
case, the fax machine will automatically print a re-
port indicating the type of document and the total
number of pages (to be transmitted and received)
cancelled from its memory.
RECEPTION MODES
In any non-manual RX MODE, if you raise the re-
ceiver immediately, you must press the
