Fax operation (Other functions)
Remote reception

Remote reception is accomplished as follows
1. Pick up the telephone receiver while the bell is ringing.
2. If a fax tone is heard, use the telephone to input the 2-
digit remote reception number.
* If you are connected to a telephone, speak with the
other party.

3. The connection will switch to the fax and reception will
start automatically.
If a separately purchased telephone is connected to the fax, fax reception may be initiated
from the telephone. If, during an incoming call, the telephone receiver is picked up while the
telephone is still ringing and a fax tone is heard, simply input the 2-digit remote reception
number and the fax will automatically start receiving operations.
** Remote reception is only possible if a separately purchased telephone with tone dialling
capabilities is used in conjunction with the facsimile.
* The factory setting for the 2-digit remote reception number is “55”. To change this number,
refer to “(2) Changing the remote reception number”, page 96.
